Who We Are
The EAST MIDLANDS IMMEDIATE CARE SCHEME (EMICS) covers the whole of the East Midlands.
Our volunteer doctors turn out at all hours, in all weather, 365 days a year, and respond to an average of 4 life-threatening emergencies a day.
Our doctors all have specialist, advanced prehospital emergency medical skills.
All of our funds go to equipping our doctors with the medical kit they require to assist in patient care and it costs several thousand pounds to put each doctor on the road. As we receive no funding from the NHS, our doctors and staff are all unpaid, cover the cost of their own specialist training and travel, and give up their free time for the work of EMICS.
Our intervention saves lives, and that’s why we do what we do. Our testimonials page contains comments from just some of those we have helped.
Please consider supporting us by visiting the ‘donate’ page – without your support we could not get our doctors on the road to help save lives in emergencies.
